Today marks a milestone. It is my profound honor to recognize someone whose name is woven into the very fabric of Bruning Elementary: our wonderful secretary, Brenda Begler, who has given 50 years—half a century—of unwavering service, dedication, and heart to this school.
Fifty years ago, when Brenda first walked through the doors of Bruning Elementary, the world looked very different. But one thing has remained constant: her steady presence, her kind smile, and her unmatched commitment to our students, staff, and families.
If these walls could talk, they would tell stories of her warm greetings to generations of students—many of whom grew up and brought their own children back to Bruning, greeted by that same familiar voice at the front desk. They would speak of her calm during chaos, her patience when the phones wouldn’t stop ringing, and her ability to juggle a hundred tasks while still knowing exactly where the Band-Aids are.
She has been the heartbeat of this building—the quiet engine that kept everything running smoothly. From organizing records and field trips to comforting nervous kindergartners and answering every possible question a parent could ask, Brenda has done it all—with grace, humility, and an endless reserve of kindness.
To say she is irreplaceable would be an understatement. She is the keeper of our history, the face of our front office, and a trusted friend to all.
On behalf of the students, staff, families—past and present—of Bruning Elementary, we thank you, Brenda, for your lifetime of service. For your loyalty, your compassion, and your extraordinary devotion to this school.
You’ve not just served for 50 years—you’ve made Bruning a better place for 50 years. And for that, we are eternally grateful.

Happy Secretary's Day to Brenda! After 49 incredible years of dedicated service, Brenda will be retiiring at the end of this school year! Her warm smile, steady presence, and unwavering commitment have been the heart of our school for generations. We are deeply grateful for all she has given and wish her a joyful, well-earned retirement.

3rd Trimester mid-term grades are available electronically on Skyward. Please log-in to your Skyward account to check your child's grades. All students whose parents have checked their grades by Monday, April 14th will earn a Paws ticket.

REMINDER: We have early dimissal tomorrow, April 9th at 11:00 AM. Please make sure someone is home to get your child off the bus. There is no school for EC students or AM Project Sunrise Students. The PM Project Sunrise students will come in the morning.
