All WMS students will view the Funeral Procession along our service road from 11:20 – 11:35 am on Thursday May 15th. Recently, a World War II MIA Soldier Private James C. Loyd returned home after missing for 80 years. His burial will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. He has family roots here in Wilmington. Students will be asked pay their respects by holding a small American Flag in their left hand while placing the right hand over their chest. This is proper etiquette during a funeral procession of a military veteran.
We encourage all students and staff to show their support by wearing red, white, and blue to school.

Congratulations to the Music Department on their success at the IESA Organization Contest!
The 7th/8th Grade Choir earned a second rating, and the 7th/8th Grade Band achieved a first rating!
Well done to all students and directors—your hard work and dedication truly paid off!

Monday, May 5th kicks off Teacher Appreciation Week — a special time to say thank you to the amazing teachers who make such a big difference in our students' lives.
Teachers do so much more than teach. They guide, encourage, and inspire. Their hard work, kindness, and dedication leave a lasting impact on both students and their communities.
To all Wilmington District 209U teachers, past and present: thank you for everything you do. You are truly appreciated!

Congratulations to the April Wildcats of the Month!
